Level Control Valves, patented by Calzoni, are used as element for pressure disconnection along penstocks of remarkable lenght in order to regulate the flow in the upstream penstock and to control the level of downstream disconnecting pools.
Production ranges:
• from 200 to 2000 mm nominal diameter
• from 1 to 10 bar nominal pressure
|
Valve components :
• body and shutter
• sealing counterseats
• floater
|
Materials:
• Carbon steel
• Stainless steel
• Carbon steel - Chrome plated steel |

Features of Calzoni' s Level Control Valves
|
|
• Accuracy of machinings
• High siffness of structural parts
• Installation in areas far from the guard house
• Operation under unbalanced pressure
• No specific civil works as the valve is installed directly on the penstock
This allows to have a realiable operation with reduced effort and maximum sensitivity, no leakages, and easy maintenance.

Operational characteristics:
The valve is actuated by a floater.
When fluid level changes the floater, located in the well, controls through the operating rod the cylindrical shutter which slies on the body.
The shutter, which is placed in a vertical position at the penstock downstream end allows to shut off the outlet opening.
Special hydraulic braking is provided on request when extremely low transient overpressure is required.
